- student "how to" sessions were at the weekly meetings there could be a short "how to" instructional session like how to set up for photoshop for animation or how to prep a canvas digitally and traditionally..
- pick an Artist to promote every week, to show their work and help others learn about them
- video of the week, maybe a instructional video where we just have the link on the website and link on the white board for meetings
so students can get more info, like animation videos or digital painting videos
- promote how to build resumes just like how you guys do a website and business card demos
- set up more Zoo and Cafe Life Drawing Trips, were basically we just say hey we are all meeting up here on saturday at noon show up and draw if you want
- History lesson of the week, example : you could talk briefly about the "nine old men" or how disney was founded or pixar or anything
- random art fact of the week
- list people or artist or books every student should know like common knowledge for beginning animators and illustrators
And I have many more ideas to add the club and again I would love to join.

I'm an Entertainment Arts/Animation major as well as a RTVF(Writing) major, expected to graduate either in Spring or Fall 2017 depending on class availability.
I'd personally prefer to run as an Event Coordinator, but I'd also like to apply as either the webmaster or historian as well.
I've been helping this year's officers set up events, especially social events and parties, through the year and I really love to be helpful, so I'm familiar with how the events are run. I acted as a helper/moderator for the 24 Hour Animation Challenge, and have put forth as much time and effort as I can to aid in other events. I've actively attended all the PMC events this year and I want to keep them going strong. I also love PMC as a club, and I'd do anything I can to give back to it; to make a long story short, PMC low-key helped me a lot through hard times. And of course, I simply love animation and the entertainment industry.
I am fully intent on continuing to give my all when it comes to setting up events and make dreams a reality for the other club members, just as the club has done for me. If the event coordinator position is filled, I think I would also be suitable for the aforementioned positions. As a webmaster, I'm already active on social media sites and I would have no problems running pages. As a historian, I have experience with cameras from various film classes I've taken, and I would love to excite both members and non-members.

I was treasurer for my high school’s community service club (Kiwanis) and feel my past experience as a treasurer there would be useful as treasurer for pencil milage club. As historian i would take the time to attend all events that needed me (also I have my own camera). Aside from the responsibility of board duties as treasurer for the Kiwanis club I was also a very active member, as I am now for PMC. Im very passionate about animation and its community. Like everyone else in this club as i grew up i never stopped watching cartoons and just became more interested in the industry. When i found out about Pencil milage club I joined immediately and have attended many club events and almost all of the meetings. The board has done an amazing job of organizing PMC while still maintaining a welcoming environment and i would love to be apart of this.

I’m interested in the Historian position because I love documenting all the fun events we did at PMC and share it with other people. With my current class schedule, I’m able to attend all the club meetings and major events. Furthermore, I’m experienced in video and image editing so I can make a nice photo or documentary video. Moreover, I add posts on Facebook on a regular basis so that everything will be current or recent
Event Coordinator
Valerie Dacpano
I'm highly interested in applying for the Event Coordinator position. My name is Valerie Dacpano. I am an Art Bachelor of Fine Arts with an emphasis in Entertainment Art/Animation and am expected to graduate in May 2018. In my past internship experiences I have done an internship at Make A Wish Foundation where I coordinated with a team to fulfill a Make A Wish child's dream come true. I believe my educationa paired with my leadership skills and enthusiam make me the perfect candidate for this position.
Cassidy Foelsch
I have been a proud member of the PMC for the past 2 years and I love being a part of it so much that I am ready to step up and help to make the magic happen myself as an Event Coordinator. I have a lot of experience being on planning committees for events of all sizes such as the ASI Spring Concert, The ASI Film Festival, and The Orange County Film Festival, so I know what it takes to work with a team to pull off a successful event both on and off campus. At CTN this year I got to volunteer at the demo station, which meant that not only did I make some great contacts for future PMC speakers, but I also gained experience in working with professional artists and accommodating their needs effectively. Since I am a double major in Illustration and Film, as a board member my goal would be to continue to bring out artists working in the animation industry as well as introducing some from the visual development departments of live action films. Furthermore, I am bursting at the seams with fun ideas for the holiday parties, networking events, and even meeting games (although most of them don't involve Sasquatch evolution unfortunately). Overall I am extremely passionate about making PMC a welcoming home to everyone as I know it has been one to me.

Relevant Experience: I participated in the 24 hour animation competition last semester and really got a taste of teamwork and leadership. Alongside that, I participated as a student volunteer at Siggraph in Vancouver working alongside many artist from all around the world. The important thing about these experience is not only teamwork, but networking and creating a community of artist that will help each other out and hopefully long lasting friends. I believe I will excel working with Pencil Mileage Club and be a great contributor.

I have held some previous leadership positions in high school as my Art Club's president, as well as a mentor for freshman students, and holding a TA position. Although none of this directly correlates with the event coordinator position specifically. I feel like the skills learned from those positions can help me to transfer my skills into coordinating events, recruiting and being friendly and professional with professional artists and speakers and more. More than anything, I want to give back to such a positive community that welcomed me and made me feel like I had a place! PMC has been such a wonderful experience for me and without a doubt it has been the most impact part of my college career thus far. I want to continue the legacy of PMC and continue to keep it as welcoming, constructive, fun, and inspiring as it has been for me.

My name is Garrett Nichol. I recently applied for the position to be an advertiser a few weeks ago. After talking to a friend who has been an officer, I realized how exciting it could be to be an event coordinator! Now that I know more about what this position involves, it would be so much fun to figure out events as a team! I would loved to be considered for both positions.

The Pencil Mileage Club means a lot to me. I’ve met so many genuinely kind, talented, and overall wonderful people through the events hosted by this club. Though I am generally an introverted person, PMC helped me make new friends and helped me feel like a part of an important community. Throughout high school, I was involved in several clubs including the Speech and Debate team, taking a historian position as a sophomore, secretary as a junior, and president as a senior. My tasks ranged from taking pictures during competitions, taking minutes, and organizing as well as running tournaments at school. I was additionally involved in the Human Rights Watch Student Task Force as a secretary, also taking minutes at every meeting and helping organize school-wide events and petitions. These clubs were not at all art-related I admit, but I was extremely passionate about them, which I believe is an important aspect of any leader. Although I have only been attending Fullerton and been part of the PMC for two semesters, I have attended most of the events hosted by the club and each time, have had so much fun drawing with my friends and felt so grateful to be part of such an inspiring and supportive community of artists. I am responsible, reliable, and can easily get along and work with other people. I am truly passionate about art, being a member of the Pencil Mileage Club, and being a student at Cal State Fullerton. As an event coordinator, I hope to contribute to the events planned for the next year and in doing so, help instill a strong sense of community within the members attending the events. Thank you for your consideration!

When I think of the two things I’m best at, I think of organization/planning and being social / making friends! This is why I think I’d make a GREAT event coordinator! I love reaching out to and connecting with people, so I would be great at connecting and communicating with potential speakers. In addition to this, my penchant for (almost obsessive) planning and organizing is wonderful for event planning. My numerous customer service jobs (from Home Decor at Macy’s to answering phones in offices and waiting tables) have taught me excellent professional communicative skills. If you need an organized and outgoing event coordinator, then look no further!

Christian Calle
I’m Christian Calle and I'm majoring in Animation and I'm expected to graduate in the year of 2017 (It'll be my last year). Being part of the club last year and this year has been nothing but amazing and has me planning some awesome events and amazing speakers. A position I would love to acquire again for the upcoming new year is either Event Coordinator of E.C. Specialist. In my experience I have volunteered in many art festivals and conventions such as CTN Animation Expo, The World Animation VFX Submit, and the Chuck Jones Center for Creativity. For every festival and convention I was the guy that everybody would come to, and I had to handle many situations to help me around and get more involved. Last year, being a very difficult time for me because I had to deal with some personal things at the same time I learned so much and with the experience I've gained this past year I'm excited to see all these amazing events that have yet to come. I love and breath animation and I love being involved as much as I can. If I do get a chance to become a PMC Officer once again my goal is to make it the biggest and most amazing club ever. Thank you so much for the opportunity.
Secretary

I have been an officer for the past year as secretary and I’m excited to have the opportunity to be a PMC officer for another year. PMC means a lot to me and I hope to use my year of experience to help the club continue to accomplish amazing things next year. My experience as secretary has allowed me to me understand how the club runs as a whole, and I believe this experience will be valuable next year!

I have experience making signs, posters, sending out bulletin announcements and creating other outlets to update the student body of upcoming events. My experience is through my involvement with the Associated Student Body( Leadership) at my high school as the Commissioner of Publicity, and my involvement as a Cheer Captain making signs for sporting events and working with my team to stay organized and on top of our schedule/ routine deadlines. I was also involved with my high school's Small Business course and was elected as the Advertising Manager, handling the promotion of sales and fundraisers for the class. I enjoyed being involved with my high school and I would love the opportunity to have that same kind of involvement here at CSUF through the PMC. The upcoming school year 2016-2017 will be my final year at CSUF and I would be honored to be considered for the Advertising PMC officer position. I know I could be a great addition to the team because I like working with others, I am organized and hardworking, and I am a quick learner. I am proficient in traditional media including graphite, ink, acrylic, gouache, and watercolor, as well as digital programs like Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator.
In detail:
In my senior year of High School I was elected the Commissioner of Publicity. For my position, I was in charge of advertising all school events from bake sales to plays to Prom. I also updated the school marquee and created and maintained a weekly event bulletin calendar outside of the Leadership room to post events, rallies, assemblies, student birthdays, etc. I handled email correspondence for my Leadership Adviser and helped other Commissioners with their personal projects including Club Rush, Homecoming Picnic, Color Day, and many more activities.
Last year I was accepted into the CSU International Program of Florence to study art for an entire school year. I was surrounded by a group of creative strangers who would later turn into an encouraging close knit group of friends from many different CSU campuses. After my experience studying abroad, I felt so inspired by all of the encouragement from my peers to pursue my artistic goals that I was determined to become more proactive in the CSUF arts community when I came back.
Upon my return from Italy, I learned about the Pencil Mileage Club at Discoverfest Spring 2016. I became aware of all the cool events and activities that the PMC offers. Right away, I knew that this was a club that I wanted to be a part of. I would like to become more active with the Pencil Mileage Club because I love the foundation of the club and all of the opportunities that the club organizes to help students pursue their artistic goals while making friends and enjoying their university experience. Aside from my promotion/advertising experience, I would be a great fit for this position because I 'm friendly and a team player, I am deadline driven, I enjoy making posters/flyers, and I want to dedicate my time to become more involved with the PMC community. I will be graduating next Spring and I'd love to spend my last year connecting with others who are just as passionate about art.

Besides being on social media on my free, time, I also know how to code in html format! and I have been coding since I was a kid! I also have great new ideas on how we can use social media to further connect club members and help out one another! I was thinking that a type of blog in which we can post idea/facts/sites we can use as artists (ie selling, commissioning your own artwork) for those who do not know how to do so! I have been working in a cafe in my spare time, and am very team-friendly and love coordinating with others. PMC has been an outstanding club for the past (almost) 20 years, and it would be an honor to help and be a part of its history!

With accounts on everything from Instagram to Twitter, Tumblr, Facebook, and LiveJournal, I definitely know my way around social media! I have experience as a social media coordinator, having acted as webmaster for my previous theater troupe. I maintained the group's presence on Tumblr, Facebook, and Twitter, keeping everyone updated with event pages, photos, and other pertinent information.

I’m qualified to be PMC’s new advertiser because I love design! Even though I’mstudying illustration I’ve been studying graphic design along with it because I believe these fields go hand in hand. While at my community college I took courses in typography and graphic design while I volunteered at a paper mill where I learned how to set type the old school way using metal type (no computers needed). I’ve been making my own posters, books, logos, and all the fun stuff that comes with studying graphic design and love every bit of it. Program wise, I’m proficient in illustrator and indesign.

The PMC has done so much for me since I transferred in Fall of 2014.
It's turned me from a shy and lonely looser to a modestly shy looser with some great friends. Now I feel it's time to give back.
I hope I can make new students feel welcome, to have someone to get feedback on their work and just feel like someone is looking out for them. Cause lets face it, being alone at a new school with no friends suuuuuucks. I also feel I have some great event and party ideas, only half of which may or may not suck.Good thing we're a club that votes on things first.
I've also had previous experience as an advertiser and an rearin' and ready to go for another round of posterin'.
I also still own chickens if that sweetens the pot for anyone.

My Name is Jake Lemke and I'm both illustration and animation major ( i know madness ), my expected graduation date will probably be 2017. The positions Im very interested in are the Social media Coordinator, Historian, and Advertiser and my relevant experience to my choices include having a knowledge and understanding of different social media applications through personal experience and my Job where I had to manage the Instagram and take photos of food and other things pertaining to my job at the time. I also have a lot of experience with customer service and communication through my past jobs as a cashier, server, and assistant manager. I am currently an event coordinator for PMC and I enjoy helping people. I have learned a lot about how the club runs and would like to continue being a part of this wonderful group of people. I live on campus which makes it easier for me to help out with events or any issue that may rise. I occasionally do community service events which has often given me new skills and ideas I can use as an officer. The Pencil Mileage club is always inspiring me to continue growing on my abilities and I would like to continue to grow in this club until I graduate!

I'm a huge believer in taking a great thing and making it even better. I believe the best candidate to become president of the Pencil Mileage Club is someone who is willing and able to put in the time and effort for the betterment of club operations, one who is daring enough to try new ideas for events while preserving the tried and true, and one who believes in making the club a better experience for every member. As president, I would strive for excellence in all of these categories, and with my experience as event coordinator I know how much it would take to commit to these promises. Vote for me if you want the Pencil Mileage Club to continue being awesome - but with more awesome stacked on top of it!
